Robert Scott is an award winning British playwright. His scripts range from dark tragedies to light comedies and have currently been performed in 34 countries to countless positive reviews from audiences and critics. His musical abilities have received praise from established professionals such as Wang-Chung founder and former Sony producer Nick Feldman and Ivor Novello award winner David Matthews.
Robert was born in Solihull, England in 1984. His musical and writing ambition started at the age of three teaching himself piano by copying music he heard on the TV and radio and telling short stories to classmates and teachers (such as The adventures of “Robert the Raindrop”).
He later moved to a small village in Derbyshire aged four and grew up taking part on and offstage in various amateur dramatic groups. After being involved in several theatre groups, Robert set up his own production team in 2006 with the specific task of workshopping and performing his scripts. Later that year, Robert staged a short sketch show and a musical which promptly brought him to the attention of a west-end producer. The following year Robert produced his first full length musical at Her Majesty’s Theatre, London (Home to Phantom of the Opera) receiving outstanding reviews.
Robert began writing professionally in 2011 and has written a variety of full-length, one act plays and comedy sketches published by Lazy Bee Scripts. Robert’s plays receive hundreds of performances a year all over the world. Popular productions include: According To Rumour, Checkmate, 12Hr Life, The Angry Doctor and Déjà Déjà Vu plus award winners: All By Myself, A Spy With A View and A Charming Affair.
Robert is also an accomplished artist and composer. He has sold artwork around the world and received praise from film and TV personalities.
